3rd generation mattresses MARLEK 1 and 2 are avant-garde solutions developed in response to the need of therapeutic sleep.

During sleep human body regains its powers, healing processes take place and pain syndromes' levels are reduced. These can take place undisturbed only if the spine is supported in accordance with its natural physiological needs, while improper spine position may lead to improper configuration of intervertebral discs and, consequently, to pressure against nerves, which in turn may lead to long-lasting morning neck pains, shoulder pains and vein thrombosis. To prevent those negative processes the Valde company developed its 3rd generation mattresses which comply with all standards and requirements for differentiated hardness and multilayer structure.

Marlek MW and MS mattresses 01(80x200x25)/02(90x200x25) are new generation medical products characterized by high efficacy in treatment of pain, spinal pain syndromes, nerve irritation and bedsores. They also support sleep treatment - pharmacological coma. The use of mattresses prevents from shoulder pain, providing proper physiological position for the spine. With the possibility of changing mattresses' level of hardness configuration and their shape, both the attending physician and the patient may influence the therapeutic processes and accelerate them, thus significantly reducing treatment costs.

The construction of Marlek mattresses, which supports approximately 35-42% of the body area, ensures that individual pressure becomes homogeneous and metabolic and catabolic processes are not hampered. Marlek mattresses are designed for persons and patients weighing between 35 kg and 125 kg. For users whose weight exceeds 125 kg the mattress construction is reinforced. MARLEK mattresses meet users' expectations with regard to health recovery and provide a good quality, much welcomed tool for physicians.

Marlek mattresses are equipped with a system of longitudinal-transverse channels which provides for installation of oxygen distributor connected to "Linde Gaz Polska" oxygen concentrator.
The three-layer structure of the Marlek MW and MS set may be additionally supplemented with a magnetotherapy overlay. Marlek mattress series may be used by practically everyone. Special module structure allows for accurate body contact placement and anatomical spine support.

Figure 1 depicts the structure of Valde mattress with system of module springiness or system of module replacement. First mattress layer consists of memory foam which is adapted to body's weight. Second layer consists of high resilience foam (so-called standard) in a specially designed shape. The set of modules is located in the base of the mattress, composition of which being precisely determined by Valde and accurately adapted to the customer's needs.

Marlek MW mattress has a module replacement system. This means that the modules marked green and blue in Fig. 1 may be replaced and so the level of hardness may be adjusted. In those sections of the mattress where sensitive or sick parts of user's body are located the level of foam hardness may be adjusted by replacing a module.

Marlek MS has a module springiness system. This means that the modules marked green and blue in Fig. 1 are not replaceable. This is a springiness system. The module is mounted on special foam, the height of which allows for adjustment of support level for user's spine and the whole body. This system functions delicately and does not include a pressure spring.

Figure 2 shows the shape that human body adapts on Marlek series mattress. The mattress has six hardness levels. The base of the mattress consists of springiness or replacement modules, as shown in Fig. 2. Overlay 1 is a memory layer; overlay 2 is high resilience polyurethane foam. The application of those modules allows for perfect adjustment of sections to body weight and shape.

The thickness of Marlek mattress is 25 cm. The product is completely hypoallergenic. The mattress consists of 3 layers and elastic edgings. The MW and MS mattress set can be configured according to physician's or physical therapist's prescriptions as well as in accordance with the user's own needs. The 3 layers of the mattress are: 5 cm memory overlay (thermoplastic), 5 cm filtering overlay, knurled (high resilience for oxygen therapy) and replacement module base with six levels of hardness (Fig. 2). The set includes one Valde pillow of client's choice.
